Astilbe Erika (Arendsii Hybrid) is a stunning perennial that brings elegant texture and soft, feathery plumes of pastel pink flowers to shady garden spaces. Blooming in early to midsummer, this hardy and low-maintenance plant adds a touch of romance to woodland gardens, shaded borders, and moist landscapes. The finely divided, deep green foliage forms a dense, mounding habit, providing season-long interest even after the flowers have faded. This Arendsii hybrid Astilbe thrives in partial to full shade and prefers consistently moist, well-draining soil rich in organic matter. With its excellent tolerance to shade and resistance to deer and rabbits, Astilbe Erika is a reliable choice for both beginner and experienced gardeners. The delicate, plume-like flowers are highly attractive to pollinators, making this variety a perfect addition to wildlife-friendly gardens. Astilbe Erika also makes a superb cut flower, whether fresh or dried, adding a delicate charm to floral arrangements. Ideal for planting in mass groupings, alongside ferns and hostas, or as an accent in shaded borders, this astilbe variety naturalizes beautifully over time, creating a lush and textured display. Its compact size makes it an excellent choice for smaller gardens or container planting. Cold-hardy and long-lived, Erika Astilbe is a dependable perennial that returns year after year, providing a burst of color and texture to the shade garden. For best results, plant Astilbe 'Erika' bare roots in early spring or fall, ensuring they are well-watered during the establishment period. A layer of mulch helps retain moisture and keeps the roots cool during warmer months. Whether used as a focal point in a shady garden bed or as part of a naturalistic woodland setting, Astilbe 'Erika' is a must-have for those seeking graceful beauty and easy-care elegance in their landscape.

  • Long Bloom Period: Unlike some other shade perennials that bloom briefly, Erika Astilbe offers an extended display of flowers that last for weeks, keeping your garden lively well into the summer season.
  • Excellent Cut Flower: The airy, plume-like flowers make wonderful additions to floral arrangements. Fresh-cut stems add softness and texture to bouquets, while dried flowers maintain their beauty for decorative purposes.
  • Compact and Well-Behaved Growth Habit: This astilbe variety forms neat, mounded clumps of foliage and flowers, typically growing to 32–36 inches in height. Its tidy, upright growth makes it a perfect choice for both garden beds and containers.
  • Shade-Loving Perennial: Thriving in partial to full shade, Erika Astilbe is ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, and underplanting beneath trees and shrubs. It excels in garden spots where other perennials may struggle due to a lack of direct sunlight.
  • Moisture-Loving and Easy to Grow: Astilbe Erika prefers consistently moist, well-draining soil and thrives in garden beds that retain moisture. It is an excellent choice for damp, shaded areas, such as beside ponds or streams, where it can flourish with minimal effort.

Product Care Instructions Select a planting site with partial to full shade. Soak the Astilbe bare roots in lukewarm water for 1–2 hours before planting to rehydrate them. Dig a hole twice as wide as the Astilbe root system and about 4–6 inches deep. Place the Astilbe bare root in the hole with the crown (where the roots meet the shoots) at the soil level. Spread out the Astilbe roots gently. Backfill with soil and firm it down gently to eliminate air pockets. Water thoroughly after planting.
